In a world where efficiency and sustainability are more important than ever, Choco is redefining how the food industry operates. As the industry's #1 ordering platform, Choco is the bridge connecting restaurants and suppliers, enabling streamlined, in-app orders that save time, reduce waste, and ultimately, revolutionize the food ordering experience.
Choco asked me to build their comprehensive design system in Figma, central to enhancing the user interface and experience of the Choco app. This design system was instrumental in making the app more intuitive for users, whether they were chefs looking to scrap endless order sheets and late-night phone calls, or suppliers seeking to optimize their businesses by reducing order mishaps and selling more products.
In addition, as the manager of Choco's Design Team, I played a critical role in driving the visual identity of the brand and translating complex processes into easy-to-navigate designs. I also took the initiative to coach the design team on the correct way to construct components in Figma, thereby fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. To facilitate efficient cross-functional collaboration, I wrote comprehensive documentation detailing the use and application of the design system. This, coupled with the naming conventions I established, ensured smooth and effective communication within the design team and with other departments.
I worked closely with the development team, ensuring a seamless transition of designs from the design stage to implementation. This communication was key to translating our design vision into a tangible product that has since become an indispensable tool for restaurants and suppliers alike. Guided by Choco's mission of making food systems more sustainable sooner, our work resulted in a platform that not only simplifies the day-to-day operations of restaurants and suppliers but also contributes to a more sustainable food industry.
